Interim Controller - Healthcare

This fractional engagement requires an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations for a Miami-based healthcare organisation. The successful candidate will oversee general ledger management, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls, while supporting executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Healthcare-specific knowledge is essential, including revenue cycle oversight, reimbursement analysis, and payer-related reporting.

The role also involves coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors, reviewing payroll and accounts payable processes, and mentoring existing finance staff. GAAP compliance and familiarity with healthcare financial regulations are required throughout. The engagement is part-time with onsite presence required during standard business hours, and has potential to continue based on organisational needs.

• Oversee general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support healthcare-specific functions including revenue cycle oversight, reimbursement analysis, and payer reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors, and provide mentorship to finance staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
• 7 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including controllership responsibilities
• Healthcare industry experience required, ideally across physician groups, clinics, or hospitals
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
