Interim Controller

HealthOp Solutions is seeking an interim Controller to take full ownership of the accounting function for a multi-site nonprofit healthcare organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will manage month-end and year-end close, produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial packages, and maintain cost-centre and program-level reporting across multiple sites. The role is genuinely hands-on: the Controller works directly in the general ledger and Excel alongside two AP/AR direct reports, rather than overseeing a layer of managers.

The other core pillar of the role is controls and compliance. The Controller maintains internal controls to protect organisational assets, coordinates with external auditors through the annual audit, oversees tax filings, and monitors cash flow and working capital. On-site is preferred, though a remote arrangement is open for the right candidate. The engagement requires an Arizona DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and a valid driver's licence.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for accuracy and compliance
• Own month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations covering accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance
• Supervise, mentor and develop AP and AR staff, setting priorities and reviewing their work
• Maintain cost-centre and program-level reporting across a multi-site organisation
• Coordinate the annual external audit, support tax filings, and monitor cash flow and working capital for the CFO

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business
• 5 to 7 years of accounting or finance experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and regulatory compliance standards
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Sage or comparable ERP systems
• Ability to obtain an Arizona DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and hold a valid driver's licence with acceptable driving record
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, including presenting financial information to non-financial audiences

Its corporate finance and accounting team supports the delivery of community health services, with financial stewardship directly funding programmes that residents rely on.
