A remote Interim Controller engagement for a private-equity-backed ABA therapy provider, covering multi-entity close, consolidation, audit coordination, and year-end reporting from November 2026 through March 2027.
Behavioral Framework is seeking an Interim Controller to lead the monthly multi-entity close across its finance organisation, including the December year-end close, intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries and eliminations, and entity-level and consolidated reporting. The engagement runs approximately November 2026 through March 2027, with a part-time overlap in November and December and full-time coverage from January through March.
The successful candidate will coordinate and review the accounting team's close work, prepare financial statements and management reporting packages for CFO review, lead day-to-day audit coordination, validate revenue and payroll source data, and deliver a fully documented handoff at engagement end. Hands-on NetSuite expertise and strong U.S. GAAP knowledge are essential. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington D.C.
- Own the monthly multi-entity close, including intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries and eliminations, and entity-level and consolidated financial reporting
- Coordinate and review accounting team close work across journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for revenue, payroll, prepaids, fixed assets, and leases
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management, board, sponsor, and lender reporting packages for CFO review
- Lead day-to-day audit coordination, manage auditor request lists, reconcile financial statements to the general ledger, and track open items
- Partner with revenue-cycle and payroll teams to validate source data, maintain accounting calculations, and escalate unusual trends to the CFO
- Maintain process documentation, coordinate targeted improvements, and deliver a documented handoff with current schedules, audit status, and an open-items tracker
- Demonstrated ownership of a multi-entity close, including intercompany accounting, consolidation entries, and consolidated reporting
- Recent, expert-level, hands-on NetSuite experience covering close activities, journal-entry imports, saved searches, and financial reporting
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge across revenue recognition, payroll accruals, fixed assets, leases, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prior responsibility for year-end close and external audit coordination, including direct interaction with auditors during fieldwork
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to maintain and reconcile complex accounting schedules
- Availability aligned to Eastern Time for November through March, with capacity for part-time hours in November and December and full-time coverage from January
