Fractional Head of Product Engineering – AI Healthcare Platform

Scrivas is looking for a senior, hands-on engineering leader to assume technical responsibility for SAI, its AI-powered clinical documentation platform currently in beta. The platform comprises a React/TypeScript web application and Flutter mobile apps for iOS and Android, built with external development partners. The initial 90-day engagement runs at approximately 15 to 25 hours per week.

The mandate is clear: conduct an independent technical assessment, stabilise the existing codebase, troubleshoot high-priority production issues, review vendor output and pull requests, improve testing and CI/CD processes, and deliver a prioritised 6 to 12 month engineering roadmap. This is a builder role requiring direct code-level involvement, not a strategic advisory position.

• Conduct an independent technical assessment of the SAI platform, covering architecture, APIs, AI/LLM integrations, and deployment processes.
• Personally troubleshoot complex and high-priority production issues affecting beta users.
• Review code and pull requests produced by external development partners, and evaluate their quality and capabilities.
• Improve testing, monitoring, logging, error tracking, CI/CD, and release processes as needed.
• Establish engineering standards, documentation, and appropriate code review practices.
• Deliver a recommended 6 to 12 month engineering roadmap, including guidance on what to keep outsourced versus bring in-house.

• Advanced production experience with React and TypeScript, including front-end architecture and debugging.
• Proven ability to inherit and stabilise an existing production codebase with significant technical debt or defects.
• Experience with REST APIs, frontend/backend integrations, and cloud-based SaaS deployments.
• Familiarity with building or supporting AI/LLM-enabled production applications.
• Experience managing or overseeing third-party or offshore development resources.
• Flutter/iOS/Android experience and familiarity with healthcare technology or HIPAA-regulated environments strongly preferred.
