Interim Head of People (Contract)

RightClick is placing an Interim Head of People on behalf of a client seeking experienced HR leadership on a contract basis. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the HR function across talent acquisition, culture, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and HR operations. There is potential for this contract to convert to a permanent role.

The position is hybrid and based in New York, NY. The contractor will supervise one part-time HR team member, manage external vendors including benefits brokers and payroll providers, and serve as the primary HR contact for a distributed, hybrid workforce. Experience building or scaling an HR function, ideally within a nonprofit, association, or membership organisation, is strongly preferred. Immediate availability is required.

• Own the full HR function including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR operations
• Manage the employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding through to development and retention
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR guidance
• Oversee employee relations matters including conflict resolution and performance issues
• Build and maintain HR policies, processes, and systems including HRIS for a distributed workforce
• Supervise one part-time HR team member and manage vendor relationships such as benefits brokers and payroll providers

• At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3 or more years in a senior HR leadership role
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or SHRM/HRCI certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience building or scaling an HR function, ideally in a nonprofit, association, or membership organisation
• Strong knowledge of compensation design, benefits administration, and employment law
• Experience managing HR operations for a hybrid or multi-location workforce
• Immediate availability to commence the contract
