Interim Head of Human Resources
An interim senior HR leadership role at a publicly traded energy and industrial services company, partnering directly with the CEO to oversee a team of three across the full HR function during a period of significant organisational growth.
A high-growth, publicly traded energy and industrial services company is seeking an interim Head of Human Resources on a contract-to-permanent basis. The organisation has undergone substantial expansion in recent years and is now strengthening its people infrastructure to support the next phase of growth. This is a hands-on player-coach role overseeing a team of three, reporting directly to the CEO, with significant influence across workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and organisational development.
A key priority is evolving the HR function to support continued scale, including partnering with internal teams on a Workday implementation and transitioning responsibilities currently held by external consultants to sustainable internal ownership. Up to 25% travel to field sites and operating locations is required. Preferred candidates will have experience supporting field and blue-collar workforces in industrial or energy environments.
- Serve as the senior HR leader and strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team across all people matters.
- Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning, and staffing strategies across corporate, warehouse, and field-based roles.
- Oversee payroll, benefits, and compensation programmes, and support a Workday HRIS implementation.
- Manage employee relations matters including investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Lead performance management processes including evaluations, talent reviews, and development planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations including OSHA, FLSA, EEO, ERISA, FMLA, and ADA.
- 10 or more years of progressive HR experience across multiple disciplines and business functions.
- At least 2 years leading an HR team with direct reports.
- Experience supporting field, warehouse, and blue-collar workforces, preferably in industrial or energy environments.
- Technical capability with HRIS and payroll platforms, with Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; MBA and SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
