Interim Head of Finance

Vargo Group is placing an experienced interim Head of Finance into a growing multi-entity business based in Cardiff. Reporting into the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the full finance function across three group entities, combining hands-on delivery with strategic input during a period of cover.

The role spans management accounts, board and statutory reporting, corporation tax, cash flow forecasting, payroll oversight and month-end close. Beyond BAU responsibilities, the interim will also lead finance projects, system improvements and process redesign, while serving as the primary finance contact for auditors, banks and external advisors.

• Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts and board reporting across three entities
• Maintain financial controls, governance frameworks and statutory compliance
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liaise with banks and external advisors
• Oversee corporation tax calculations and submissions
• Lead transactional finance, payroll processing and month-end close activities
• Drive finance projects, systems improvements and process redesign initiatives

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with senior finance leadership experience
• Proven track record operating as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or equivalent
• Strong technical accounting, statutory reporting and financial controls expertise
• Experience managing multi-entity finance functions
• Comfortable balancing strategic input with hands-on operational delivery
• Full right-to-work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
