PagerDuty seeks a contract Head of Content Marketing to lead content strategy and production across Communications, Marketing, Product Marketing, and Performance Marketing teams.
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this contractor will serve as the connective tissue across multiple marketing functions, translating business and product priorities into a consistent pipeline of high-quality content. The role spans both long-form assets such as whitepapers and ebooks and short-form copy including ads, email, and social. The contractor will lead a team of agency content creators, manage the content calendar, track performance metrics, and ensure all output aligns with PagerDuty's brand voice and SEO requirements. The position requires two days per week in the San Francisco office. This is a contract engagement and is not eligible for employee benefits, equity, or paid leave.
- Write, edit, and manage production of ebooks, whitepapers, blog posts, thought-leadership articles, and other long-form assets from concept through publication
- Develop and execute a content marketing strategy aligned with business goals, target personas, and the buyer journey
- Manage the content calendar, prioritising and sequencing requests against business priorities and keeping stakeholders aligned on timelines
- Collaborate with Performance Marketing to align organic and paid content strategy, adapting assets for paid channels
- Track and report on content performance across syndication channels, translating metrics into clear recommendations
- Optimise all content for SEO, lead generation, and brand consistency prior to publication
- 5 to 8 or more years of experience in content marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across both long-form and short-form formats
- Familiarity with SEO principles, analytics, and content management systems such as WordPress and HubSpot
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Comfort working independently as a contractor and managing workflow against shifting priorities
- Experience creating content for both technical and business audiences
