A 12-month interim Finance Director role based in Bristol, leading a finance function through maternity cover with responsibility for financial control, management accounts, forecasting and team leadership.
Core3 is recruiting an Interim Finance Director to cover a 12-month maternity leave for an established, commercially focused client organisation in Bristol. The role carries full responsibility for the finance function, working closely with senior leadership to maintain financial stability and drive meaningful commercial insight throughout the contract period.
The postholder will have the autonomy to get close to the numbers, lead and develop an existing finance team, and keep agreed process improvement projects moving alongside business-as-usual delivery. The contract is offered on a hybrid basis, with regular attendance at the Bristol office expected.
- Lead the finance function, establishing clear accountability and a supportive team environment.
- Deliver accurate management accounts and communicate meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.
- Strengthen financial controls and ensure records, assets and liabilities are well managed.
- Improve forecasting and forward-looking analysis to underpin commercial decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain oversight of financial performance throughout the year.
- Manage cash flow, working capital and credit control, and oversee preparation of statutory accounts.
- Qualified accountant holding ACA, ACCA or CIMA designation.
- Demonstrable experience in a senior finance leadership role, including team management.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with sound commercial judgement.
- Confident communicator able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly in a new organisation and maintain delivery across multiple priorities.
- Experience within a complex, international or finance transformation environment is advantageous but not required.
