Interim Financial Controller

A technology and managed services company with roughly a decade of operating history is seeking an interim Controller for a 3 to 6 month engagement averaging 32 to 40 hours per week. The role is hybrid, with two days on-site required in north-west Houston each week.

The Controller will own the full accounting cycle under U.S. GAAP, prepare monthly and quarterly financial packages for executive leadership and a ten-member board, lead budgeting and capital planning, and support M&A activity through cash flow modelling and due diligence. Oversight of AR/AP, cash management, internal controls, and data security standards is also expected. Experience in MSP or IT managed services is strongly preferred.

• Execute month-end close, bank reconciliations, and accurate booking of revenue, expenses, and COGS in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial packages and dashboards to executive leadership and a ten-member board
• Lead annual budgeting and capital planning processes
• Support M&A activity through cash flow modelling, valuation analysis, and due diligence execution
• Oversee AR/AP, cash flow management, internal controls, and data security standards

• Proven experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO, comfortable with both board-level reporting and hands-on accounting
• Deep understanding of recurring revenue accounting (MRR/ARR), service profitability, and project accounting
• Background in MSP or IT managed services highly preferred; financial institution service experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
