Interim Finance Director

Sphere Group has been retained to place an Interim Divisional Finance Director on a six-month contract with an international, HNW-backed group operating across two complementary businesses. The organisation is entering a new phase of growth and looking to establish a more centralised executive finance structure capable of supporting its continued expansion.

The successful candidate will take immediate ownership of financial reporting, controls, cashflow management and governance across the division. Working directly with the CEO and international shareholders, they will deliver commercial insight and financial analysis to support investment decisions, acquisitions and strategic planning. The role demands a hands-on operator who can build credibility quickly, lead a team through change and deliver tangible improvements within the contract period. Note: the client is unable to consider outside-IR35 day rate applications.

• Lead the development of a centralised finance function across both businesses, establishing structure and capability for continued growth.
• Own financial reporting, controls, cashflow management and governance across the division.
• Partner with the CEO and international shareholders, providing commercial insight, financial analysis and constructive challenge.
• Review and improve finance systems, processes and controls to support growing operational complexity.
• Support investment decisions, acquisitions and expansion plans with rigorous financial information and analysis.
• Lead and manage the finance team through a period of structural change and transition.

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven track record leading finance functions within multi-entity, growth-focused environments.
• Experience strengthening financial systems, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Comfortable operating at board level with senior stakeholders and shareholders.
• Commercially astute with strong financial planning and analysis skills.
• Available on an inside-IR35 basis for an initial six-month contract.
