A senior interim Finance Director role at a large, complex organisation in Milton Keynes, covering financial leadership, CFO deputisation, planning, treasury, controls, and team development on a hybrid basis.
This interim Finance Director position sits within a sizable, purpose-driven organisation navigating a period of transition. The role requires a qualified finance professional who can step into senior leadership immediately, deputising for the CFO at Board and Executive level and providing robust commercial financial oversight throughout the engagement.
Core accountabilities span financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash and treasury management, statutory compliance, and the review and strengthening of existing finance systems and controls. The post-holder will also support any restructuring or transformation activity affecting the finance function, while mentoring and developing the finance team and preparing for a smooth handover to a permanent appointment.
- Provide strategic financial and commercial leadership to the Executive team and Board during the interim period
- Deputise for the CFO at Board and Executive level as required
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting with a commercial lens
- Manage cash flow, treasury, and financial risk across the organisation
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements
- Lead, develop, and support the finance team while strengthening systems, processes, and controls
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience at Finance Director level
- Proven track record operating in an interim or change-management capacity, able to add value quickly
- Demonstrable experience deputising for a CFO or equivalent senior finance leader
- Confidence and gravitas to challenge and influence at Board level
- Strong technical financial knowledge combined with commercial and strategic acumen
- Eligibility to work in the UK
