A six-month interim Finance Director contract leading the completion of a major integration and consolidation programme across German operations for a large supply chain and logistics organisation.
This senior interim contract sits within a well-established supply chain and logistics business that is consolidating its German operations following recent acquisition activity. Reporting to divisional leadership, the Finance Director will lead the final phase of an integration programme, covering process harmonisation, systems alignment and financial consolidation, while providing stability and direction to the local finance team on the ground in Germany.
The role demands a self-sufficient, commercially sharp finance leader comfortable operating with considerable autonomy across cultures. The initial contract is for six months, based in the UK with frequent travel to Germany, and is engaged outside IR35 at a day rate of £600 to £750.
- Lead completion of the integration programme, including process harmonisation, systems alignment and financial consolidation across German operations
- Manage and develop the local finance team through a period of significant organisational change
- Provide operational finance delivery and decision support to senior operational leadership
- Establish financial governance, controls and reporting in line with group standards
- Identify and implement cost optimisation and efficiency opportunities across the business unit
- Liaise with group finance and senior stakeholders on progress, risk and strategic priorities
- 15 or more years of finance leadership experience, including substantial senior-level exposure
- Proven track record leading integration, consolidation or business transformation programmes
- Fluency in both German and English, required for on-the-ground team engagement and local stakeholder management
- Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management capability
- Willingness to travel frequently to Germany, with regular on-site presence during the early contract phase
- Background in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing or similarly operationally intensive environments is advantageous
