Finance Consultant (Independent Contractor)

Vistera operates a subscription platform that connects small and mid-sized Canadian businesses with on-demand legal, HR, and finance professionals, supported by proprietary AI. As a fractional Finance Consultant, you will manage your own schedule while serving multiple client organisations, delivering financial expertise across a range of engagements.

You will advise client leaders on financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance optimisation. The role suits experienced finance professionals who value variety, independent working, and the opportunity to create tangible results for diverse organisations. Compensation is CAD $100-$125 per hour, dependent on experience.

• Provide financial guidance and support to small and mid-sized client organisations across a range of engagements
• Deliver expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and business performance optimisation
• Identify client challenges and opportunities, then implement practical solutions aligned with their business goals
• Analyse financial data and present clear, actionable insights to client leaders and stakeholders
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client teams and leadership
• Operate independently across multiple concurrent client engagements while maintaining open communication with internal and client stakeholders

• 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial consulting
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
• Demonstrated experience developing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations for business leaders
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; CPA designation preferred
