Interim Executive Director (Stipend)

Live Green Connecticut is a statewide nonprofit with nearly 20 years of experience bringing municipalities, businesses and community organisations together around sustainability initiatives including clean energy, sustainable transport and community engagement. The organisation is entering a growth phase and requires an interim Executive Director to provide operational and programme leadership, reporting to the Board President.

The role spans programme oversight for an energy efficiency initiative, administrative and programme management of an 18-month grant-funded project, expansion of the Live Green Connecticut Pledge, development and fundraising, volunteer coordination, event leadership, and external stakeholder representation. The position carries day-to-day operational authority within boundaries set by the Board, with the expectation of progressively greater independent responsibility during the transition period.

• Supervise and direct the three-person implementation team, leading weekly meetings and tracking progress against goals and funder commitments
• Administer an 18-month grant project, coordinating timelines, milestones, reporting requirements and documentation
• Lead expansion of the Live Green Connecticut Pledge by recruiting businesses, municipalities and community organisations as participants
• Identify and cultivate grant, foundation, corporate and sponsorship funding opportunities, and support proposal development
• Recruit, coordinate and develop volunteers and community advisors across programmes and events
• Plan and execute events, including concept development, logistics, speaker coordination, promotion and on-the-day management

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit, government, business or community engagement context
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
• Experience with grant administration, including tracking deliverables, managing documentation and meeting reporting obligations
• Proven ability to develop partnerships and cultivate relationships with funders, sponsors and community stakeholders
• Comfort with public speaking, community events and representing an organisation externally
• Resourceful, self-directed work style suited to a primarily remote, part-time engagement
