Fractional Director of Operations

Edible Garden AG Inc. is seeking an experienced fractional operations leader to assess and improve day-to-day performance across production, packing, warehouse, and inventory functions at its Belvidere, New Jersey facility. This is a practical, hands-on role rather than a purely strategic one. The successful candidate will work directly with managers and frontline teams to identify gaps, build accountability structures, and implement sustainable improvements.

Key focus areas include establishing standardised operating procedures, introducing daily management routines, improving inventory accuracy and warehouse organisation, and developing measurable KPIs across production throughput, labour utilisation, quality, and fulfillment. The role suits a candidate with at least seven years of progressive operations leadership in food manufacturing, fresh produce, or consumer packaged goods environments.

• Evaluate manufacturing and warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions
• Establish and document SOPs, daily management routines, shift handoffs, and performance expectations
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs covering throughput, quality, inventory accuracy, and labour productivity
• Coach managers, supervisors, and frontline employees on accountability and continuous improvement
• Improve receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping workflows, including FIFO/FEFO and cycle-counting processes
• Provide executive leadership with regular updates on operational performance, risks, and improvement progress

• Seven or more years of progressive operations leadership in food manufacturing, fresh produce, CPG, or distribution
• Demonstrated experience managing packing, warehouse, inventory, and fulfillment operations in high-volume environments
• Proven ability to develop SOPs, KPI frameworks, and organisational accountability systems
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, labour planning, and warehouse management practices
• Experience leading supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees with a hands-on management style
• Solid understanding of food quality standards, product handling requirements, and operational compliance
