PhysNet, a national workers' compensation healthcare administrator, is seeking a senior finance leader to own accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a lean, fully remote environment.
PhysNet is looking for a hands-on Director of Finance to serve as the senior finance leader reporting directly to the CEO. The role covers the full accounting and reporting function, including monthly close ownership, reconciliation review, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. The person will also lead budgeting and cash flow forecasting, deliver KPI analysis to executive leadership, and manage relationships with external tax, audit, and banking partners.
This is a highly practical role suited to someone comfortable operating within a lean team. The successful candidate will mentor the Accounting Manager, implement process improvements, and adopt modern finance technologies including QuickBooks Online and Power BI. Healthcare services or managed care experience is preferred, and a CPA is strongly valued. The position is fully remote with occasional travel for leadership meetings.
- Own and manage the full monthly close process, including review of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly cash flow forecasting activities
- Deliver timely KPI analysis and financial modelling to support executive decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements and finance technology solutions, including automation and AI-enabled tools
- Mentor and supervise the Accounting Manager while coordinating with external tax, audit, and banking advisors
- Support compliance, insurance renewals, and corporate administrative functions as required
- 8 to 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including a Controller or Director of Finance role
- Strong technical accounting skills across general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated financial modelling capability
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Power BI; familiarity with automation and AI tools
- Experience managing monthly close processes and working with external accounting and tax advisors
- CPA strongly preferred; healthcare, managed care, or professional services background an advantage
