Director of Accounting (Contractor)

Emerge Global Solutions LLC is seeking a contract Director of Accounting to take ownership of its accounting function as the firm continues to grow. This remote engagement covers preparation and review of financial statements, maintenance of general ledger accuracy, and management of month-end and year-end close cycles. The director will also develop and refine accounting policies to support a structured, compliant finance environment.

Beyond core reporting, the role involves supporting budgeting and forecasting, delivering financial analysis to inform leadership decisions, and coordinating with external tax and audit advisors. The successful candidate will proactively communicate financial insights to senior leadership and identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and transparency across the organisation.

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
• Maintain general ledger integrity and manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Develop and refine accounting policies and internal controls
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning activities
• Coordinate with external tax and audit professionals as required
• Identify and recommend process improvements to improve efficiency and financial transparency

• Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with financial statements and financial reporting
• CPA credentials, equivalent professional certification, or substantial relevant experience
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial analysis tools
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and tax considerations for small businesses
• Experience in professional services, coaching, or consulting environments is an advantage
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong written and verbal communication skills
