An interim Director of FP&A role embedded within a TV entertainment organisation, leading financial planning, forecasting, cash flow coordination, and management reporting across production and distribution finance.
The client is an established TV entertainment organisation seeking an experienced interim FP&A leader to support an existing finance function. The consultant will own several recurring financial processes, including performance analysis, financial projections, management reporting, and cash flow planning, working with stakeholders across production, distribution, and corporate finance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on FP&A professional capable of independently managing complex financial models, coordinating inputs from multiple teams, and delivering accurate, timely financial information in a fast-moving environment. Prior experience in TV or media entertainment is strongly preferred, along with advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Coordinate operating cash flow forecasts across the television business, integrating projections from production and distribution finance into a consolidated leadership outlook.
- Lead the review and consolidation of financial submissions across television activities, reconciling assumptions, investigating variances, and preparing schedules including intercompany eliminations.
- Maintain title-level financial models covering licensing arrangements, revenue recognition, fee expectations, and collection timing.
- Support annual budgets, periodic reforecasts, and multi-year financial plans, evaluating the impact of evolving content and distribution assumptions.
- Analyse results against plan and prior forecasts, explain material changes in performance and cash flow, and present observations to senior finance stakeholders.
- Prepare consolidated financial packages and executive presentations covering scripted and unscripted programming, production activity, and key financial drivers.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 7 or more years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or financial planning experience.
- Prior experience in TV entertainment highly preferred.
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with operating cash flow forecasting, cash flow analysis, and working capital considerations.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience in ERP, financial planning, or business intelligence systems preferred.
