An interim Director of Financial Reporting to lead GAAP-compliant consolidated reporting across multiple entities, manage the full close cycle, and deliver executive-level financial insights to the CFO, Board, and lenders.
This interim role sits at the centre of the financial reporting function, responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements across multiple entities. The director will partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Internal Audit to strengthen reporting processes and provide the executive team with high-quality financial insights.
The position also carries responsibility for advising on complex technical accounting matters, managing external audits, driving financial systems and automation improvements, and reinforcing internal controls and governance practices. Candidates from private equity-backed or multi-location environments are well suited to this engagement.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, producing accurate GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements across all entities and business units.
- Oversee the general ledger, chart of accounts, and reporting structures to support scalable financial operations.
- Deliver executive-level financial reporting and analysis to the CFO, Board, lenders, and other key stakeholders, including covenant compliance support.
- Advise on complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, and equity transactions.
- Manage all financial reporting aspects of external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit queries.
- Champion automation, process standardisation, and technology-enabled efficiencies across the close and reporting cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with an active CPA licence.
- 10 or more years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including a strong public accounting foundation (Big Four or national firm preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including researching and applying complex accounting guidance.
- Experience within private equity-backed or multi-location organisations; hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or retail industry exposure is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success leading external audits and collaborating with audit firms and technical specialists.
- Track record of driving financial systems improvements, process optimisation, and reporting transformation initiatives.
