Fractional CTO (Client-Facing / Delivery & Stakeholder Management) at KRON Development

KRON Development, an Osaka-based IT company serving global clients, is seeking a part-time fractional CTO to lead client engagement and technical delivery. The role spans technical discovery sessions, shaping solution architecture for new and existing products, and ensuring delivery meets quality, timeline, and budget expectations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing stakeholder communication, conducting technical and code reviews, aligning product roadmaps with long-term technology vision, and establishing standards around security, scalability, and maintainability. The role also involves mentoring both client and internal teams on sound development practices, working across time zones in a fully remote environment.

• Lead technical discovery with clients and translate business objectives into actionable IT strategies and roadmaps
• Shape and review solution architecture for new and existing products, with a focus on scalability and security
• Oversee delivery planning and coordinate with development teams to meet quality, timeline, and budget targets
• Manage stakeholder communication, including expectation setting, facilitation, and negotiation
• Conduct technical reviews and provide practical guidance on software development practices
• Mentor client and internal teams on best practices, and help establish standards for maintainability and DevOps

• Strong background in software development and architecture, with experience designing scalable and secure systems
• Demonstrated experience in project and delivery management, including planning, execution oversight, and risk mitigation
• Proven capability in IT strategy and product development, turning business needs into technical roadmaps and measurable outcomes
• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in remote, distributed teams across time zones using modern collaboration tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices
