Fractional CTO (Full-Stack AI with Production LLM - Part time)

KRON Development is seeking a fractional CTO to own the technical vision for its AI-driven product suite. The role centres on architecting scalable, secure full-stack systems that incorporate production-grade Large Language Models, with a strong emphasis on MLOps practices, CI/CD reliability, and sound cloud infrastructure decisions.

Day-to-day work spans architecture reviews, hands-on code contributions, tooling selection across cloud and orchestration layers, and close collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders. The successful candidate will also mentor developers on modern AI frameworks, manage technical risk, and translate business requirements into executable technical roadmaps.

• Define and oversee the technical vision for AI-driven products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery timelines.
• Guide architecture decisions for full-stack and AI systems, including cloud infrastructure and MLOps tooling selection.
• Review and contribute production-grade code across the stack.
• Set technical standards and best practices, mentoring engineers on LLM integration and modern AI frameworks.
• Manage technical risk and support roadmap planning in collaboration with product stakeholders.
• Ensure secure, reliable deployment of AI features through CI/CD pipelines and production-ready practices.

• Proven full-stack software development experience, including hands-on integration of production LLMs into applications.
• Strong background in IT strategy and architecture, with a track record of designing scalable, secure, cloud-based systems.
• Experience in MLOps, AI/ML frameworks, and LLM orchestration tooling such as LangChain or vector databases.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and deliver production-ready features.
• Prior senior technical leadership experience as CTO, Head of Engineering, or Principal Engineer, ideally in remote or international environments.
