Interim Corporate Controller

This interim Corporate Controller role sits within a PE-backed, $1B global business with around 1,500 employees. The position is available for an immediate start and is based in Charlotte, NC, operating on a hybrid schedule (onsite Monday to Thursday, remote Friday). The controller will lead a team of approximately 15 accounting professionals across four divisions, including eight direct reports spanning the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The role carries broad responsibility across accounting operations, quarterly and annual close, financial reporting, internal controls, technical accounting, external audits, and new accounting technology implementation. The controller will report directly to the CFO and play a visible leadership role supporting board and audit committee activity, budget and forecasting processes, and cross-functional collaboration across onshore and offshore teams. Approximately 5% travel is expected.

• Lead and develop a geographically dispersed accounting team across four divisions, providing mentoring and fostering a high-performance culture
• Oversee timely and accurate preparation of all internal and external financial reports in accordance with US GAAP
• Manage quarterly and annual close processes, technical accounting memos, and compliance with evolving accounting standards
• Design, document, and reinforce internal controls and accounting policies to support repeatable financial statement reporting
• Coordinate all audit activity with external auditors and support the CFO in engaging the Board and its Audit and Finance committees
• Administer new accounting technology implementations and identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce risk

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation required
• 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, audit, and internal controls
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing sizable accounting teams across multiple entities
• Private equity or logistics industry experience is advantageous
