Interim Leader COO/CCO

This interim executive role spans both chief operating and chief compliance functions at a San Leandro, California hospital. The successful candidate will oversee clinical and operational performance, financial stewardship, staffing strategies, and regulatory and accreditation readiness. They will lead privacy initiatives and quality and safety programmes while maintaining continuous survey readiness and adherence to applicable laws and standards.

The role requires close collaboration with executive, clinical, and medical staff leadership to strengthen operational performance and align activity with organisational goals. The position is available to start within two to three weeks of acceptance, with travel, accommodation, and work-related expenses covered by the client.

• Provide executive oversight of hospital-wide operations to ensure safe, efficient, and financially responsible healthcare delivery
• Lead compliance, regulatory, accreditation, and privacy initiatives and maintain continuous survey readiness
• Champion a culture of safety and accountability by advancing quality programmes and improving patient and workforce outcomes
• Oversee financial performance and staffing strategies, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency
• Partner with executive, clinical, and medical staff leadership to advance strategic priorities and organisational goals
• Support a positive organisational culture and sustainable long-term performance across all leadership levels

• Bachelor's degree required; BSN preferred
• Active California RN licence required
• Minimum of five years of relevant executive healthcare experience
• LTAC and/or critical care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to commence the role within two to three weeks of acceptance
