Controller - Nonprofit Organisations (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC is a nationally recognised outsourced accounting firm serving nonprofit organisations across the US. The Controller role involves acting as an embedded financial leader for multiple nonprofit clients, guiding their accounting functions and helping them deliver on their missions. The position covers the full spectrum of financial management, from day-to-day transactional work through to board-level reporting and audit preparation.

The role operates in a hybrid environment, with client interactions both on-site and virtually. Candidates should be comfortable managing several client relationships simultaneously, working independently, and maintaining responsiveness during standard business hours. Full-time and part-time schedules are both available.

• Serve as outsourced Controller and CFO for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, transforming their financial departments
• Prepare financial reports and board-level presentations to support governance and decision-making
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance policies
• Manage transactional accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, and workpapers
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and funder reporting activities
• Coordinate annual audit preparation and provide training to client and internal staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5 to 7 or more years of accounting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience across multiple general ledger systems, particularly QuickBooks
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships independently and responsively
• Experience with Sage Intacct is an advantage; CPA certification is a plus
• Nonprofit, public accounting, or consulting experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus
