Controller - Princeton - Full-Time or Part-Time

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a national provider of outsourced accounting services to nonprofit organisations, and one of the faster-growing accounting firms in the United States. This Controller position supports multiple nonprofit clients across Central New Jersey, including Princeton, Morristown, Trenton, and New Brunswick, and the surrounding counties.

The successful candidate will serve as an outsourced Controller or CFO for a portfolio of clients, transforming their accounting operations and delivering hands-on financial leadership. Work is conducted in a hybrid environment, with both on-site client visits and remote work expected. The role suits an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable managing multiple client relationships independently and engaging regularly with boards, finance committees, and client staff.

• Lead financial reporting for management and board decision-making, including presentation preparation
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance policies
• Manage transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations, workpapers, and general accounting records
• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, data analysis, and grant or funder reporting
• Prepare for and coordinate the annual audit process, and deliver training to client staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 5 to 7 or more years of accounting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with experience across multiple general ledger systems, particularly QuickBooks
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements independently and respond in a timely manner
• Experience working in or supporting nonprofit organisations is a plus, as is CPA certification
• Bilingual English and Spanish capability is advantageous
