Controller - Houston, TX - Full-Time or Part-Time

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a nationally recognised outsourced accounting firm serving nonprofit organisations. This Controller position covers the Greater Houston, Austin, and San Antonio markets, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring both remote and on-site client engagement.

The successful candidate will serve as outsourced Controller and CFO across multiple nonprofit clients, managing the full accounting function. Work spans transactional processing, financial reporting, board-level presentations, grant administration, budgeting and forecasting, internal control improvements, and annual audit coordination. Both full-time and part-time arrangements are available.

• Produce financial reports and present findings to client management, boards of directors, and finance committees
• Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and maintenance of workpapers across multiple client accounts
• Oversee transactional functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and payroll
• Administer grant management, cost allocations, and funder reporting requirements
• Prepare for and coordinate annual audit processes on behalf of clients
• Recommend and implement improvements to internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5 or more years of accounting experience, with nonprofit or public accounting experience an advantage
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort managing multiple general ledger packages
• Experience with QuickBooks and electronic bill pay systems preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple client relationships, and respond promptly
• CPA certification and bilingual English/Spanish skills are advantageous but not required
