Fractional Controller

This fractional Controller position is a remote contract engagement focused on delivering senior-level financial oversight across several client organisations simultaneously. The role covers general ledger management, monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, financial statement preparation, and management reporting. The Controller will also advise client leadership on cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting matters.

Beyond reporting, the role involves designing and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance practices, and coordinating with tax and audit teams as required. Strong independent working habits, the ability to juggle multiple engagements, and clear communication with non-finance stakeholders are essential for success in this position.

• Oversee general ledger activities and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for multiple client organisations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all reporting.
• Analyse cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support client leadership decision-making.
• Design, implement, and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Coordinate with external tax and audit teams on behalf of clients where applicable.
• Communicate financial results and insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders across client engagements.

• Demonstrated experience in controllership functions including general ledger management, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience designing and evaluating internal controls and compliance processes.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage, combined with advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements independently in a remote contract environment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-finance audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
