Interim Controller

A South Florida health system is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead financial operations at its Aventura acute care hospital for a 13-week assignment. The role requires a finance leader who can step in quickly, maintain accounting integrity, and work directly with hospital and executive leadership to sustain strong financial performance.

Key areas of focus include month-end close, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and coordination of internal and external audit activities. The Controller will also guide accounting team members and help ensure compliance with applicable healthcare accounting standards and policies.

• Oversee hospital accounting and finance operations, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Prepare and communicate financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
• Partner with hospital and executive leadership on financial performance and operational decisions
• Monitor revenue and expenses, identifying opportunities to improve financial outcomes
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes
• Mentor and guide accounting and finance team members

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior hospital or healthcare finance experience required
• Controller-level or progressive healthcare accounting and finance leadership background
• Strong grasp of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Experience engaging directly with hospital or executive leadership
• CPA preferred, with strong analytical and communication skills
