A fractional Controller role overseeing accounting and financial functions across a diversified group of operating companies, reporting directly to the President with broad responsibility and autonomy.
GSI Diversified is a Shrewsbury, MO-based holding company seeking an experienced, hands-on fractional Controller to lead the accounting and financial functions across its portfolio of operating companies. The role reports directly to the President and carries significant autonomy over the financial function.
This is not a pure financial reporting position. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and operating leaders, interpret financial results, surface risks and opportunities, and deliver clear recommendations that support better business decisions. Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution is an advantage, and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Own the monthly and year-end financial close process, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting
- Maintain account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and appropriate internal accounting controls
- Manage and forecast company cash flow, banking activity, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Monitor inventory levels, valuation, and working-capital trends
- Develop and analyse budgets and forecasts, identifying financial trends, risks, and opportunities for management
- Coordinate tax compliance and year-end activities with external advisers, and support financial due diligence on potential acquisitions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated Controller-level experience including month-end and year-end close management
- Strong grasp of internal controls, cash management, AP, AR, and working capital
- Proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP or accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus)
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial managers and work independently
- CPA preferred but not required; manufacturing or distribution experience is an advantage
