Interim Multi-Site Controller, Strategic Resources

This interim controller position provides hands-on leadership of accounting operations for BDO USA's Strategic Resources practice, placing experienced finance professionals with clients on a contract basis. The role covers the full accounting cycle, from daily transactional oversight through month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, GAAP compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls. The position also supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for client management teams.

The schedule is sporadic and fluctuating by nature, reflecting the varied demands of different client engagements. The successful candidate must adapt quickly to new environments and communicate financial findings clearly to client leadership at each site.

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely, accurate financial statements
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies across client sites
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filing requirements
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master's preferred)
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role
• CPA certification preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with major accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP preferred
• Experience in public accounting, professional services, or interim controller assignments preferred
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities across client engagements
