Fractional CIO

In this role, you will own the business relationship between Velo IT Group and approximately 20 to 30 client organisations, acting as their outsourced Chief Information Officer. You will deliver proactive, well-prepared technology planning sessions at least quarterly, bringing practical IT guidance and digital transformation ideas to each client's leadership team. The role demands strong relationship-building capability and the discipline to manage multiple concurrent client engagements with rigour and consistency.

You will collaborate closely with an internal technical team to architect and deliver appropriate technology solutions, while serving as a trusted adviser on IT strategy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Candidates should bring at least 10 years of IT experience, including 3 to 5 years in an IT leadership capacity, and demonstrate clear business acumen and persuasive communication skills.

• Own and manage the client relationship for a portfolio of 20 to 30 organisations, acting as their fractional CIO.
• Facilitate quarterly technology planning sessions that deliver proactive IT guidance and measurable improvement roadmaps.
• Advise clients on IT strategy, architecture, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams to design and deliver the right technology solutions for each client.
• Drive continual improvement and change management across client organisations, building trust and momentum.
• Monitor client technology environments and identify risks, opportunities, and areas for strategic investment.

• 10 or more years of experience in Information Technology.
• 3 to 5 years in an IT leadership role, such as CIO, IT Director, or equivalent.
• Articulate and persuasive communicator with strong business acumen.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships in a services or consulting environment.
• Highly organised, with the capacity to manage multiple clients and concurrent change initiatives.
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment while also taking ownership of client outcomes.
