A PE-backed UK B2B SaaS business with £40m ARR seeks an Interim CFO to lead financial reporting, governance, lender relations and M&A workstreams over a 6-month engagement.
A UK B2B SaaS business reporting £40m ARR has recently taken investment from a mid-market private equity house and is seeking an Interim CFO for a 6-month engagement. The product holds an established position in the UK market with predominantly recurring revenue, and the sponsor has a value creation plan centred on organic growth, international expansion and bolt-on acquisitions.
The successful candidate will build investor-grade reporting from the ground up, own lender and covenant management, lead finance workstreams on acquisitions from diligence through integration, and bring statutory accounts and management reporting in line with sponsor expectations. They will also assess and strengthen the existing finance team and support the board in recruiting a permanent successor.
- Produce a monthly board pack including ARR, NRR and cohort analysis that stands up to investor scrutiny
- Manage the lender relationship and maintain the covenant position
- Lead finance workstreams on bolt-on acquisitions from due diligence through to integration
- Bring statutory accounts and management reporting in line with sponsor standards
- Assess the existing finance team and strengthen it where required
- Support the board in recruiting a permanent CFO and ensure a clean handover
- Prior CFO experience across at least two PE-backed SaaS businesses with revenue above £20m
- Familiarity with the first year of a sponsor's ownership cycle, ideally across multiple engagements
- Ability to build credibility quickly with a deal team and at board level
- Comfortable rebuilding financial models directly when required
- Experience delivering investor-grade reporting and forecast processes from day one
- Not suited to candidates whose CFO background is limited to VC-backed or large corporate environments only
