Interim Director of Finance, Controller (Hospital Experience Required)

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an immediately available senior accounting and finance leader with for-profit acute care hospital experience. The engagement is estimated at 3 to 6 months with potential for extension, requiring 100% on-site travel to a hospital in Arkansas (return travel on weekends is permitted and expenses are reimbursed). The position runs approximately 40 hours per week and is split 75% accounting and 25% finance.

The role reports into the hospital CFO and regional leadership, serving as a key resource across month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, AP review, budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, and daily operational reporting covering revenue, cash, and patient census.

• Lead month-end close processes including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review accounts payable and support the hospital CFO and regional leaders with financial decisions
• Prepare and deliver daily operational reports covering revenue, cash, and patient census
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
• Serve as a hands-on finance and accounting resource for the duration of the interim engagement

• 5 or more years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a for-profit hospital or physician care setting
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and query functions
• Immediately available and willing to commit to 3 or more months on-site in Arkansas
