Interim CFO/Director

A UHY-US client is looking for an experienced Interim CFO/Director on a temporary contract basis. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in public company financial reporting, SOX compliance, and technical accounting, combined with hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting. This is a fully on-site engagement requiring availability of 10 to 20 hours per week.

The role spans financial consolidation, month-end close process improvement, accounting policy evaluation, and internal control framework development. The incumbent will partner closely with executive leadership and external auditors to strengthen governance, drive process improvements, and support broader organisational transformation initiatives.

• Lead financial consolidation activities and deliver accurate, timely reporting across the organisation.
• Review and optimise chart of accounts structures to support consolidation, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Establish and improve month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting timelines.
• Evaluate accounting policies and technical accounting matters to ensure compliance with current standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyse and improve cost accounting processes, inventory valuation methodologies, and manufacturing accounting procedures.
• Lead the development and implementation of internal control frameworks and SOX compliance initiatives.

• 15 or more years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• Public company experience including financial reporting and SOX compliance, with a CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting and accounting policy expertise, including experience implementing updated standards.
• Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, including inventory valuation.
• Proven ability to design and improve internal control frameworks and lead compliance transformation programmes.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external advisors.
