A fractional Group CFO opportunity with a growing UK industrial group, owning financial reporting, controls, compliance and acquisition support across a portfolio of niche manufacturing businesses.
Thundercat Industries is a UK industrial group acquiring and developing niche manufacturing businesses for the long term. Currently operating three companies with an active acquisition pipeline, the group is seeking an experienced fractional CFO to take ownership of group-level financial reporting, controls and compliance, while also supporting acquisitions and debt financing activity.
The role is deliberately flexible, averaging roughly one day per week with additional time required during acquisitions or significant projects. The working environment is entrepreneurial and low on bureaucracy, with the expectation that the post-holder gets into the detail when needed rather than delegating it. There is clear scope for the role to expand as the group grows.
- Consolidate monthly financial information across group companies and produce accurate group reporting
- Manage group cash flow and maintain rolling cash forecasts
- Oversee corporation tax, VAT, statutory accounts, audit and financial compliance obligations
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and banking counterparties
- Support financial modelling, due diligence, deal structuring and completion processes for acquisitions
- Integrate the finance functions and reporting of newly acquired businesses into the group
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong group reporting background
- Prior experience as a CFO or Finance Director of an SME or mid-sized group, or operating as a fractional CFO
- Solid knowledge of cash management, tax, VAT and statutory compliance
- Experience with acquisitions, acquisition finance, banking facilities and covenant compliance
- Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment without large support functions
- Able to commit to approximately one day per week, with flexibility during project-intensive periods
