Fractional CFO

This is a long-term fractional CFO position with a mid-size, multi-million pound professional services business. Reporting to the board and working closely with the partners, the CFO will lead commercial and strategic finance initiatives designed to support continued growth. The role also covers oversight of the finance function and involvement in systems and AI development across the business.

The engagement is structured at roughly one to two days per week and is open to either a part-time retainer or a day-rate arrangement. The business operates in the professional services sector, including legal and accountancy environments, and is looking for a seasoned CFO with direct experience in comparable settings.

• Lead commercial and strategic finance initiatives to support business development
• Oversee and strengthen the existing finance function
• Guide systems improvements and AI-related development across the business

• Support finance transformation on a part-time, flexible basis

• Proven CFO-level experience within professional services, such as legal, accountancy, or comparable sectors
• Strong commercial and strategic finance acumen
• Track record of delivering finance transformation and strategic initiatives
• Effective communicator with the ability to engage board-level and partner stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in a part-time, fractional capacity over the long term
