CFO Advisory - Maryland

This on-site interim CFO role supports a field-service business in Laytonsville, MD through a period of leadership transition. The successful candidate will take ownership of all finance activities, from monthly close oversight to board-level reporting, while partnering closely with executive leadership to align financial performance with operational priorities.

Experience in HVAC, plumbing, home services, or comparable multi-location service businesses is strongly preferred. Candidates must reside in the continental United States and hold current work authorisation. A finance or accounting degree and at least seven years of relevant experience are required.

• Lead all finance activities to maintain stability during an executive leadership transition
• Prepare board packages, financial presentations, forecasts, and decision-support materials
• Improve forecasting accuracy and strengthen forward-looking financial insights for management and sponsors
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including assumptions, reviews, and stakeholder alignment
• Oversee monthly close and financial reporting through the controller and accounting team
• Translate financial results into operational priorities in partnership with executive leadership

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Seven or more years of relevant CFO or senior finance experience
• Prior exposure to HVAC, plumbing, home services, or multi-location field-service organisations highly preferred
• Familiarity with service-driven revenue models and their key financial and operational drivers
• Must reside in the continental United States and hold current, ongoing work authorisation
