A fractional CFO role providing ongoing strategic financial leadership to a venture-backed RegTech company building AI-driven tax operations solutions for global financial institutions.
TAINA Technology is a venture-backed RegTech company serving major financial institutions, Big 4 firms, and fund administrators. The business operates at the intersection of AI, tax technology, and regulatory compliance, and is rolling out what it describes as the first agentic AI platform for tax operations.
This is a permanent, ongoing fractional appointment rather than an interim assignment. The Fractional CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board, investors, and senior leadership. The role covers financial strategy, planning, reporting, forecasting, and governance, while also contributing to commercial decision-making, funding strategy, and risk oversight. The focus is firmly on finance leadership rather than day-to-day operational management.
- Lead financial strategy, long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling to support board and CEO decision-making.
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly management accounts, board reporting packs, and executive financial analysis.
- Manage cashflow forecasting, runway planning, and capital allocation, and advise on future fundraising activity.
- Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory obligations.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on pricing models, commercial agreements, financial due diligence, and R&D tax relief processes.
- Provide strategic oversight to the existing finance support team and ensure scalable financial processes are in place as the business grows.
- Proven experience as a CFO, Fractional CFO, or Finance Director within a venture-backed technology business.
- Background in SaaS, RegTech, FinTech, or AI-driven technology organisations is highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, investor reporting, and board-level stakeholder management.
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal control frameworks, with experience managing compliance and governance obligations.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with comfort operating as a trusted adviser to founders, boards, and institutional investors.
