Full-Time Fractional CFO

Summit CFO Services works with business owners who need more than financial reporting. They need strategic clarity, accountability, and executive-level judgment. This role places you as the primary CFO advisor across a portfolio of client businesses, where you will quickly assess how each company operates, identify what matters most, and drive execution without waiting for perfect information.

Within the first six months, you will independently manage approximately six client relationships, deliver consistent financial direction, and collaborate with firm leadership to refine Summit's client delivery approach. The firm operates with clear standards and structured cadence, backing its CFOs with peer collaboration and shared best practices rather than leaving them to work in isolation.

• Serve as the primary CFO advisor for a portfolio of client businesses, proactively identifying financial and operational issues and driving solutions independently.
• Rapidly assess each client's business model and translate findings into clear forecasts, financial expectations, and focused action plans.
• Lead decision-driven conversations with owners and executive teams that create accountability and convert plans into measurable outcomes.
• Act as a credible advocate for clients in dealings with bankers, CPAs, and other key service providers.
• Guide improvements to each client's accounting function and partner with controllers where relevant.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent client engagements while maintaining quality and momentum.

• Demonstrated experience working closely with business owners or executive teams in an advisory or senior leadership capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365, with the ability to adapt quickly to varied client accounting systems and ERP environments.
• Comfort operating with imperfect or incomplete information and imposing structure rapidly.
• Excellent prioritisation and time management skills across multiple simultaneous responsibilities.
• Clear, plain-spoken communication style capable of translating complex financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
