Fractional CFO

This role sits within SeriesUp's embedded fractional model, where senior finance leaders manage a portfolio of high-growth, venture-backed startups simultaneously. You will act as the senior-most finance leader for each client from day one, partnering directly with founders and boards to set financial strategy and lead execution. Client stages range from seed through Series B, and the total expected commitment across the portfolio is full-time equivalent.

Beyond client delivery, the role carries a growth mandate. You are expected to develop your own book of business by leveraging your professional network and introducing prospective clients to SeriesUp's services, with a revenue-share incentive on new business you originate. The team is fully remote, with two to three in-person meetups per year and periodic travel for client board meetings.

• Serve as the senior finance leader for each client, setting overall financial strategy and priorities from day one
• Own board and investor relationships, preparing and presenting board-ready financial packages and leading board meetings
• Lead fundraising strategy and execution, including investor materials, negotiations, and close
• Drive capital allocation, cash runway planning, and scenario-based forecasting to inform major growth and pricing decisions
• Build and oversee each client's finance function, including hiring, managing, and mentoring in-house or fractional finance talent
• Select and implement appropriate financial systems as clients scale, and lead financial workstreams for M&A, exits, or debt financing

• 12 or more years of progressive finance experience, including significant tenure as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leader at a venture-backed startup
• Demonstrated experience owning a fundraise (Series A or beyond) or an M&A and exit process from the finance seat
• Direct experience presenting to and managing relationships with boards and investors on a recurring basis
• Strong FP&A background covering financial modelling, scenario planning, and cash flow and capital planning
• Hands-on ERP and accounting system implementation or management experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with strong networking and business development instincts
