Fractional CFO: Pet-Friendly Stays (Minneapolis)

Schober Properties operates a collection of dog-friendly short-term rentals in South Minneapolis under the Barkside Bungalow Network brand, alongside a property-management arm called Mortar PM. The founder is seeking a senior finance professional to take full ownership of the financial function across multiple entities, freeing the business to focus on growth. Compensation is structured as equity backed by real estate plus a revenue share agreement, rather than a cash retainer. This is an ownership-style seat, and candidates must be based in the Twin Cities and available to meet in person when required.

The role is estimated at 10 to 20 hours per month to start, with scope expected to expand as the portfolio grows and new revenue streams are added.

• Build and maintain unit-level financial models covering occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and property-level profit and loss
• Manage business bank accounts across entities, including balances, transfers, and bill payments
• Produce cash flow forecasts and runway plans across multiple properties and legal entities
• Own the monthly close process, including reconciliations and a concise owner dashboard
• Structure financial materials for capital raises, including hard-money and angel funding rounds
• Advise on new-property underwriting decisions and coordinate with the external CPA on tax readiness

• CFO or senior finance experience in real estate, with short-term rental or hospitality backgrounds strongly preferred
• Proven ability to work with unit economics, multi-entity structures, and incomplete historical data
• Familiarity with Airtable, Mercury, Hospitable, QuickBooks, and Google Sheets, or a demonstrated ability to adopt them quickly
• Experience supporting private capital raises and structuring investor terms
• Based in the Twin Cities with the ability to meet in person in South Minneapolis
