Fractional Chief Financial Officer

ScaleUp Financial Solutions provides fractional finance and accounting services to startups and high-growth companies. This CFO role involves working across multiple client engagements, serving as a trusted financial advisor while overseeing GAAP accounting, financial reporting, cash flow modelling, and FP&A. The position begins on a part-time basis with scope to grow.

The successful candidate will support clients across a range of industries including SaaS, AI, Deep Tech, and consumer products. Responsibilities span capital planning, fundraising support, cap table modelling, term sheet negotiation, M&A due diligence, and board and investor reporting. Colorado, Arizona, Washington, and Texas-based candidates are preferred, though the role is fully remote.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing financial insight, recommendations, and strategic guidance
• Manage client accounting teams to ensure timely completion of finance and accounting functions
• Design and produce financial statements, KPI tracking, investor reporting, and budget-to-actual analysis
• Build and maintain financial forecasts, cash flow models, and FP&A frameworks
• Advise on capital planning, fundraising, pricing, corporate structure, and tax planning
• Support M&A activity including buy and sell-side due diligence, exit planning, and term negotiation

• 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 7 years in a CFO capacity
• CPA and/or MBA preferred; strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with venture-backed and startup companies across SaaS, AI, Deep Tech, or consumer products
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, KPI development, and FP&A
• Experience managing multiple client engagements in a billable-hour or fractional environment
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel; familiarity with Bill.com, Ramp, or Gusto is advantageous
