Fractional Finance Director / CFO

Ruffena Investment Group is a mid-market corporate finance advisory firm operating across London and Amsterdam. The firm raises growth and transitional capital for privately held businesses, typically in the £2-25m range, spanning digital transformation, consumer, and decarbonisation sectors. Fractional FD and CFO engagements vary in intensity and duration, from short-term intensive support to ongoing part-time arrangements, tailored to each client's needs.

The role encompasses strategic financial leadership across budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, risk analysis, and governance. Candidates will also act as experienced board operators, helping founder-managed businesses navigate growth and, where relevant, facilitate introductions to the Ruffena transactions team.

• Lead financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management for portfolio clients
• Provide financial analysis, reporting, and governance at board level
• Conduct risk analysis and support financial transformation across people, processes, and systems
• Communicate complex financial matters clearly to senior management and board stakeholders
• Support or lead capital raising processes for early-stage and growth-stage businesses
• Introduce relevant new transactions to the Ruffena team where appropriate

• Substantial experience in senior financial leadership roles, with a strong track record in financial management
• Demonstrated experience raising growth capital or investing in businesses, ideally at early or growth stage
• Background in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or senior management at an investor-backed business
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within small, fast-paced teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas concisely
• High commercial acumen, integrity, and professionalism
