A venture-backed deep-tech company completing its pre-seed round seeks a fractional CFO to build financial models, prepare investor-ready materials, and support the next institutional capital raise.
The client is a venture-backed deep-tech company operating across advanced technology and hardware-driven markets. Having recently closed a pre-seed financing round, the company is preparing for its next institutional raise and needs an experienced fractional CFO to build the financial foundation for future growth.
The initial engagement is project-based, spanning approximately two to four weeks with a flexible schedule, and carries the potential to evolve into an ongoing fractional or full-time CFO arrangement. The CFO will work directly with founders to improve financial visibility, establish scalable finance processes, and support integration across domestic and international entities.
- Build an integrated 3-statement financial model, a 3-year operating plan, and a 5-year strategic forecast
- Develop scenario analyses, capital planning tools, and key operating assumptions and KPIs
- Translate technical and commercial assumptions into an investor-ready financial narrative
- Refine use-of-proceeds analysis, growth assumptions, and capital requirements for institutional fundraising
- Partner with founders on long-term financial strategy and improve reporting across the organisation
- Support financial integration across domestic and international operations and establish scalable finance processes
- Hands-on experience building investor-facing 3-statement financial models
- Track record supporting Seed, Series A, and institutional fundraising rounds
- Background in deep tech, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, hardware, aerospace, or defence technology sectors
- Experience working directly with highly technical founders and translating evolving product roadmaps into financial plans
- Ability to operate across complex multi-entity or multinational business structures
- Willingness to balance strategic CFO leadership with hands-on execution
