Interim Director of Finance and Operations

MASBO is seeking an interim Director of Finance and Operations to provide leadership across its financial and operational functions. The role encompasses financial statement preparation for the board, cash flow and reserves management, audit and compliance oversight, and improving internal financial controls and policies. The successful candidate will also manage day-to-day operations including vendor relationships and facilities, and will supervise finance and operations staff or contractors as required.

This is a part-time, remote engagement suited to a finance professional with non-profit accounting experience who can onboard quickly and operate independently within a mission-driven association setting.

• Prepare financial statements and reports for the board and senior leadership
• Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reserves
• Manage audit processes and ensure regulatory compliance
• Strengthen internal financial controls and update policies as needed
• Supervise finance and operations staff or contracted service providers
• Manage vendor relationships and day-to-day operational functions including facilities

• Demonstrated experience in non-profit accounting and financial management
• Strong skills across financial systems, reporting, and budgeting
• Ability to prepare board-level financial statements and compliance documentation
• Experience managing operations functions including vendors and facilities
• Capacity to onboard quickly and work autonomously in a lean association environment
• Familiarity with audit processes and financial controls in a non-profit context
