A six-month interim CFO engagement with an engineering and manufacturing business in South Oxfordshire, providing commercial and financial leadership across reporting, planning, controls and team development.
This interim CFO role sits within a growing engineering business in South Oxfordshire and runs for an initial six-month contract. The successful candidate will join the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for the full finance function. The focus areas include lifting the quality of management information and board reporting, strengthening financial controls and governance, and improving cash flow visibility and working capital discipline.
The role also carries a commercial dimension, covering project profitability analysis, margin review and support for investment decisions. Where relevant, the CFO will assist with funding, refinancing or M&A processes and will work to develop the capability and structure of the finance team for the next stage of growth.
- Provide commercial and financial leadership to the CEO and senior leadership team
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes
- Develop robust cash flow forecasting and working capital management frameworks
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting accuracy across the business
- Review finance systems and processes to identify scalability and efficiency improvements
- Support funding, refinancing or M&A activity and manage relationships with auditors and advisers
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent credential
- Prior experience as a CFO or Group CFO in a comparable role
- Demonstrated track record in engineering, manufacturing, logistics or construction
- Ability to deliver commercial insight on margins, project profitability and operational performance
- Experience in a private equity-backed, owner-managed or investor-backed environment is desirable
