Kindwell Partners is seeking a fractional CFO to own the financial architecture across its multi-entity MSO and behavioural health practice platform, covering consolidated close, deal finance, investor reporting, and cash forecasting.
Kindwell Partners is a management services organisation that acquires and supports behavioural health group practices across the United States. As the platform grows across multiple states, it needs a finance leader to ensure the numbers are accurate and reliable across every entity. The fractional CFO will own the full financial architecture: the MSO entity, each acquired practice, and the associated investment vehicles. Founding Directors, investors, and lenders all depend on the financial output produced in this role.
The engagement is a fractional contract at approximately 10 to 20 hours per week, based remotely in the US with occasional travel to Dallas and practice sites. The role reports directly to the CEO and is expected to design the finance function that a future controller and staff accountant will eventually operate.
- Lead monthly close and produce consolidated and entity-level financials on a defined reporting calendar
- Calculate and document MSA management fees and performance-based earn-outs for Founding Directors
- Conduct quality-of-earnings style reviews for acquisition targets, including valuation models and debt restructuring analysis
- Prepare investor updates, maintain cap table accuracy, and manage lender relationships and covenant tracking
- Own the 13-week cash forecast, annual budget, and a platform model that updates as new practices are added
- Select and oversee the accounting technology stack and external CPA, and establish finance structures for future team members
- 10 or more years in finance leadership, including CFO or VP Finance roles within healthcare services
- Hands-on experience operating within an MSO or physician/behavioural health practice management model
- Demonstrated multi-entity accounting, M&A, and earn-out or contingent-consideration experience
- Familiarity with healthcare revenue dynamics including payer mix, collections, accounts receivable, and revenue cycle metrics
- Proven ability to produce investor-ready and lender-ready financial reporting
- CPA designation preferred; private equity-backed roll-up or SBA lending experience is a bonus
Kindwell Partners is a management services organisation that acquires behavioural health group practices and provides the operational infrastructure behind them, covering finance, billing, operations, technology, and recruiting.
