Kforce's banking client is seeking an interim CFO consultant based on-site in the Los Angeles or Orange County area. The CFO will take responsibility for the full finance function of a regional bank, including accounting, purchasing, budget management, financial auditing, and reporting to regulatory agencies and board committees. The role requires establishing sound financial policies, maintaining accurate reporting, and approving capital expenditure.
The successful candidate will interface directly with the Board and Audit Committee, sit on the Executive Management Committee, and provide strategic counsel to the President and executive leadership team. Experience in senior banking finance leadership is essential, and qualifications such as CFA, CPA, or MBA are preferred alongside a relevant undergraduate degree and at least ten years of finance experience.
- Assess the bank's current financial position and help define organisational priorities aligned to financial goals
- Work alongside the President to provide counsel and support to the executive leadership team
- Analyse business risks and opportunities and make recommendations based on financial impact
- Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, taxes, regulatory filings, and working capital requirements
- Ensure integrity and compliance of all financial and regulatory reporting, controls, systems, and procedures
- Maintain and distribute board reports including ALCO reports, and interface directly with the Board and Audit Committee
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- CFA, CPA, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate business qualification preferred
- 10 or more years of finance experience, including at least five years in senior financial leadership within banking
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in strategic planning
- Proven track record as a business partner to CEO or President-level leadership
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly to varied audiences, including the Board of Directors
