Fractional CFO

A high-growth SaaS business generating approximately £5m in revenue, having recently completed a significant funding round, is seeking a fractional CFO to support its next growth phase. The initial engagement is six weeks at two to three days per week, with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent appointment.

The CFO will serve as the senior finance lead, working closely with the founder, leadership team, and board. Responsibilities span financial modelling and long-range planning, fundraising across equity, debt, and PE, SaaS metrics and valuation analysis, US expansion strategy, and building out the finance function. Oversight of outsourced finance operations is also included. The listing advertises a day rate of approximately £800 to £1,100 outside IR35, depending on experience.

• Lead financial modelling, forecasting, and long-range planning
• Prepare and manage fundraising processes across equity, debt, and potential PE
• Produce board and investor reporting packs
• Analyse SaaS metrics, valuation multiples, and commercial performance
• Advise on US expansion and wider growth strategy
• Oversee outsourced finance operations and build the internal finance function

• Prior experience operating as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior strategic finance leader
• Background in a high-growth SaaS, software, or technology business
• Hands-on financial modelling capability
• Experience supporting fundraising processes, including VC-backed or PE environments
• Familiarity with US expansion considerations is advantageous
• Strategy consulting, investment banking, or growth equity background is a plus
